OmniVideo — Getting started
OmniVideo is a desktop app for Windows and Mac: paste a share link from a video platform and take the video, cover, audio, script and subtitles separately. If all you need is the script, you don't even download the video.
Install
Windows
- Get the Windows installer (
.exe) from the download page. The link always points to the latest version. - Run it. The installer isn't code-signed yet; if Windows shows "Windows protected your PC", click More info → Run anyway.
- Open OmniVideo from the desktop or the Start menu.
Mac
- Get the Mac installer (
.dmg) from the download page. - Open it and drag OmniVideo into Applications.
- Launch it from Applications or Launchpad. The app is notarized by Apple, so it opens normally.
Requirements: Windows 10 / 11 (64-bit); macOS 12 or later on Apple silicon (M1 or newer). There is no mobile version yet.
Your first download
- Copy the link: on a computer, copy the URL from the browser's address bar; on a phone, tap Share → Copy link in the app (a whole share message works too). The platform names on the home screen are clickable and show how to do it on each one.
- Paste with
Ctrl+V(⌘Von a Mac); the link is picked out and parsed automatically. - Choose what you want: video, cover, audio, script, subtitles, metadata.
- Start, then click Open folder. Files go to
Downloads\OmniVideoby default; change it under Settings → Save location.
Supported platforms
Douyin, Xiaohongshu, WeChat Channels, Bilibili, Xigua Video, Weibo, Zhihu, YouTube and X / Twitter. Collections, playlists and Bilibili multi-part videos can be queued in one go.
Platforms that need a login
Some platforms (Douyin, YouTube, …) require a login. Click Log in inside OmniVideo on the error card: the site's own login page opens, you log in as usual, and the job retries automatically. Your password goes only to the site; OmniVideo keeps only the session the site hands back.
WeChat Channels (Pro)
- In WeChat, open the video and tap Share → Copy link to get a
https://weixin.qq.com/sph/…link. - Paste it into OmniVideo and start the download.
The first time, OmniVideo asks you to log in to Tencent Yuanbao, which it uses only to resolve the share link. Quality is the preview stream (about 720p).
Scripts and subtitles
Platform subtitles are used when they exist. Otherwise OmniVideo transcribes the speech on your computer into a transcript and SRT subtitles — nothing is uploaded. The first run downloads a ~160 MB speech model once.
Free and Pro
- Free: scripts, covers and metadata unlimited; video and audio 10 a day; subtitles and transcripts 1 a day; collections up to 3 at a time; AI agents can query only.
- Pro: everything unlimited (collections up to 500 at a time), WeChat Channels, and AI agents can download for you.
Click Pro in the top right to start a 7-day free trial, buy a monthly (¥39), quarterly (¥99) or yearly (¥299) plan with WeChat Pay, or paste an OV- redeem code. Licenses are bound to the computer; use Export this license to move to a new one.
Use it from an AI agent
OmniVideo ships an MCP server. Click the AI assistant icon and choose Connect Claude Code, or add it by hand:
